MSNBC

"Hardball" is coming on soon. Question Matthews is asking: Are the Democrats figuring out National Security? Jeneliya's answer: Probably not, ask Joe Lieberman.

On War

First of all, you must be understanding that I am being a soldier nearly all of my life. I am first enrolling in military academy at age of nine, and have spent my life fighting since then. So this is the source of my opinions.

You Americans, it is seeming to me, do not understand what war is. Your fathers knew, and your grandfathers, and their fathers, but you do not know. This is because since World War II, you are fighting what you are calling "small wars." Even the Indochina war, he is a small war. American population in 1939: 132,000,000 Americans dead in World War II: 407,300. American population in 1969: 203,000,000 Americans dead in Indochina war: 58,209. One out of every 324 Americans is dying in Second World War. One out of every 3487 Americans is dying in Indochina war. So you see, you are always fighting "small wars". But now I am about to slap you in the face with truth.

There are no small wars.

All war is total war. You must seek out your enemy, hunt him down, and destroy him. You must incapacitate the people and decapitate the leadership. You must be treating every enemy, no matter how tiny he is seeming, as if he is the bringer of your death.

Now, I will not be saying whether Indochina war is "just" or "right", or whether you should be fighting it. But I will say that you are losing it because you believe that you can fight a war and still have time for your hamburgers and your Coca-Cola.

Now you are in a war against people who are outbreeding you. You are "liberating" your women and forcing them from their hearths and children into the workplace to compete against men, and they are not having babies. Many feminists are asking "What is the place of the woman in the military?" The place of the woman in the military is to give birth to the soldiers who will fight the next war. In fact, your thinkers and savants are hoping that your enemies will catch your sickness, and they will stop breeding. They are hoping to make the rest of humankind as sick as they are.

If you are for victory against the Moslemics (and I am not so certain that you are), you must be doing several things. One is that you must be forgetting your poisonous "political correctness." You are not fighting some boggartman called "Terror". You are fighting Moslemics. Always I am seeing a certain capacity for denial in you. You say we must be fair, we must treat everyone equally. Well, I am telling you that that is not fair, it is unfair for those who, for example, wish to fly on aeroplanes without being blown up! No, you must say, who is attacking us? Young Moslemic men. So we will target these people for investigation. Some of them will be inconvienced, yes, but it is likely that some other people will not be dead.

After the London Aeroplane Foiling, many aeroports are saying that a traveler cannot be bringing on fluids because they may be explosive, for this is what the terrorists tried to use. This is wise. But then I am hearing people on CNN and MSNBC saying that it should not be done, for the terrorist will just be switching to a new method. What? This is madness! If a man comes at you with a sword, you do not say, "I had best not use my shield, for he will switch to a rifle." No! You are raising your shield, blocking his blow, and stabbing him in the throat!

Until you are understanding that you are in a war against those who would see your entire civilization in ashes, you will continue to be losing against the Moslemics.

On Pronouncing My Name

My name, which is not in English, is being pronounced:

jen-uh-LI-ya day-sha niz-moo-KAYNE-ee-an

Now, if you are ever meeting me, you will not be embarrassed for pronouncing my name incorrectly.

Cigars I Smoke

I am much liking cigars from Cuba, also from Dominican Republic. Here is a photo of my favorites, Bolivars which are Cuban and have a very strong flavor. (Thank you to Wikipedia.)

Jen Reviews Patton

Patton is a very good movie, and every military man should watch it. Th opening scene--this is what an address to the troops should be! When I am studying at military academy when I am a boy, I am taking Rhetoric, which is class to teach boys the proper methods of command. My instructors would have used this film as an example of proper command. It is a poor reflection on America, the way Patton was treated. In my military career, I have done many things, much, much worse than slapping an enlisted man, but that ruined Patton. Still, a good movie.

Dinner

Aeramais and I had dinner with our children tonight, which is getting to be a rarer and rarer occurence since Aeramais has lately been retreating to her laboratory for gene splicing. The older I am becoming, and the more time we spend together, the more I value her. Once, not even too many years ago, we were enemies, but now we are perhaps becoming friends. Dinner was very good, pot roast American style. I am liking American food, but it is sometimes too bland. I am liking food from Mexico and also Mediterranean food, like Italian or Lebanese. Last week Aeramais and I and our friend Ilya are having dinner at Fattoush, very good restaurant which is serving Middle Eastern fare. The babaganuush (?) was very good. Also I am liking Cajun food. I like the spice. In the Primacy, cooking has very great emphasis on powerful flavors: salty, spicy, sweet. Indian food especially is reminding me of food my mother is making for me when I am very small. Ilya is very good dinner company, always telling tales about his homeland of Russia, which he left in 1997. In March previous Ilya and I were going to Siberia to hunt bears, and so I am seeing some of Russia for myself.

Tonight though I am having dinner with Aeramais, Abigail, Xavier, Kelvin, and Olivia, which is very pleasant. Aeramais is a very good conversationalist, and we are discussing many world events, plus her work with various cell cultures. Afterwards, we are having a brandy on the porch while I smoke a cigar. An enjoyable evening.

Thoughts on American Indochina War

On Friday, I am making comment about American loss to Viet Cong in Indochina. Since then I have been thinking about your loss in that war, and whether you will lose the war against the Moslemics in Mesopotamia. Fighting an insurgent force is, by definition, not an undertaking for a man lacking in nerve and strength. The insurgent force possesses nerve and inner strength, for if a man is to fight an entire army, in his lone self, then he must be a man of great passion indeed. So Viet Cong have the passionate intensity of their beliefs. They are ruthless and willing to last until they win. But Americans are not ruthless and are inconstant, so they are losing their war. There are three errors I am seeing American regimes Johnson and Nixon presidencies making.

One: A true thing once said by a human is that an army marches on its stomach. Viet Cong must be getting supplies from somewhere. Nixon tried to stop flowing of supplies into Indochina by Ho Chi Minh Trail through bombings, but that is like trying to cure a dangerous infection by placing a wet washrag on the forehead to soothe the fever. You are but treating a symptom of disease by bombing Cambodia. In 1960s, Viet Cong are having powerful patron states--Soviet Union and China--who are allies to each other and enemies to United States. Dr. Kissinger, a wise man, understood that splitting one's enemies is the first step towards victory. But Kissinger is using ending of Indochina war to split Soviet Union and China. If Johnson had understood, he would be seeing that splitting Soviet Union and China would end Indochina war! But by Nixon, it is too late. Iraqi terrorists are having powerful allies in Mesopotamia--Syria and Iran. If Bush wishes to win war, he must split Syria and Iran, and cut off their aid to Iraqi militants. Now, in retetji wrestling, there is a thing which is called the yu'shav. This is a point on the opponent's body that when you push it, causes the opponent to fall. It is not always the same point; it depends on the position of the wrestler and his opponent. A good translation is "pivot point". Now, Syria's yu'shav is Lebanon. They are supplying Hesbullah because they are fearing Shi'a uprising fomented by Hesbullah radicals inside their own nation, and also they are irritated at Israel's existence. Now, what America must be doing is turning back Hesbullah upon Syria, like turning a dog on its master. This can be done two ways. One is by funding Hesbullah themselves. This is like feeding a vicious dog so it becomes your friend. The only problem is that Hesbullah is treacherous, and are not for trusting. The second option is to allow Israel to completely and utterly crush Hesbullah in Lebanon, so that the Hesbullah fighters give up in Lebanon. Then they will either go to Iraq or they will go to Syria. In Iraq you are already having a sizeable presence of troops, who can kill Hesbullah, so they will more likely become a problem for Assad. Iran is trickier, because Iran has many client states and no patron, so America has no leverage. Only force will do. America must not go to war with Iran, for it would be too costly and the rules of warfare state that no second front should be opened unless it lead to victory on the first. But Iran has no navy, and a small airforce. Therefore, bombing campaigns could work in this situation. If Johnson had been willing to bomb Peking, perhaps he could have forced the Chinese to renege on their support for the Viet Cong, but he was unwilling to do this because he feared the Soviets, who were the patron of the Chinese. But Iran has no patron, and there is little to fear from bombing, say, Iran's nuclear sites. Except, of course, for domestic protest, which is bringing me to...

Two: America is having many traitors during Indochina War, most infamous being Daniel Ellsberg, who is publishing classified documents in the New York Times. The failure of Johnson and Nixon regimes to appropriately arrest, incarcerate, and execute these traitors is leading to defeat. Now, you cannot fight a war if there is a "fifth column" inside your own walls, who does not fear reprisal. The publication of classified documents results in enemy strengthening and to further casualties. Also to weakness of your own regime. So far, Bush regime is being much more successful in suppressing traitors who would weaken the state. The State must be strong, which is the subject of...

Three: The State and the Nation must have the will to prosecute the war. The Viet Cong are knowing that if they can only outlast the Americans, they will win. Student protests give them hope. It is the same for Iraq. The Moslemic terrorists know that if they can outlast the Americans, Mesopotamia will be theirs. So it is vital that the State, in times of war, be unified. Dissent cannot be tolerated and must be crushed ruthlessly if victory is for achieving. This is tricky thing in America, because your obsession with "transparency" make appropriate actions by the police organs of the state mostly impossible. There are cowards in any nation, and worse, those who have an apathy, and worst of all those who hate the nation and wish to see it fall, but American suicidal love of "freedom of assembly" allows American cowards, apathetics, and haters to unify and form a bloc that is antithetical to the surviving of the nation. I do not see any way of correcting this, save the Hiroshima option: Be certain that your wars are so incredibly, absolutely--and most importantly, suddenly--devastating to the enemy that the war is over before it has begun, and before any concerted opposition forms. This is impractical in real life, which is why you Americans are destined to lose all your remaining wars. In revolutionary war, you are the insurgents, in civil war passions are inflamed, and in World War 2 you are trapped, backing into a wall, and must fight like a caged animal. But now America is strong, stronger than all other nations, and you have become like a bear chained in the center of an arena with dogs tearing at him. The bear is stronger than the dogs, but his fetters hold him down, and he dies. The worst is that you chained yourselves.

How you will get free, I do not know.

More Music

My partner, Aeramais, is knowing of my fondness for music, so she has bought me a new CD, Crystal Method Legion of Boom. It is a good CD. I have never listened much to technological music before, because mostly it is dance music, and I am not a dancer. But this Crystal Method is better. I am listening to it while I work on my translator program, and also while I watch Olivia.

My Music

Also I am listening to excellent Maynard James Keenan band Tool, from their album Lateralus. I am liking Tool more than A Perfect Circle. "Parabola" and "Schism" are very good. And "Mantra" is reminding me of the m'Vezhka dunaia zajd on Anakhjur, which are special places for meditation and prayer. A good translation would be "Susurrus Caverns." Sometime I will tell you about my visit to the monastery of Aei, which had a very good m'Vezhka duna zajd.

More on Translator Program

Still working on translator program. Is very difficult, because Olphen, which I am thinking in, is very different from English. Some words do not translate. By way of example, before I am telling you about Qadas m'Denoia, which I am translating as "Theory of Games." But this is the only example I can think of of exact translation. Qadas m'Denoia means exactly Theory of Games, but nothing else I can think of translates so finely. For many years I am godeki henat. Now, godek means hand, and if I were very literal, godeki henat would be "wrist". But of course I am not a wrist! In the Primacy, godek means hand, but the Godek is what you would call the security services, like your American Department of Homeland Security. So godeki henat is the wrist, in literal terms, but if you are metaphorical, it means "that which moves the hand". So godeki henat is the Head of Security for whole Primacy. But also, godeki henat means a thing which, while unseen, causes another thing to happen. And there are at least three other meanings I can think of. So you can see my trouble! But I will continue to work on this, because I am bored with my work on matter transference. (I have "hit the wall" as you Americans say.) Also, my children are asleep and Aeramais is making busy in her laboratory, so I have nothing else to do.

On War

Thinking more about what I said earlier about earthers being too impatient. There is another problem. Always you are wanting peace. Now peace is in many ways a fine thing, but so is war. War purifies and clarifies. When two nations are at peace, the citizenry become soft. They lie in the sun and bloat up with hedonistic pleasures. The Gardeners of Shintada were this way. Always fighting small "police actions" and "international interventions", never fighting the great struggles their young men need to fight to become strong. And the Gardeners became weak and bloated. You humans rush to war and then rush to peace, thus granting you all of the costs of war and none of the benefits. What are the benefits of a properly conducted war? One: A thoroughly defeated enemy, who can no longer be threatening you; two: much plunder and treasure, which enriches the state; and three: new territories for colonization and exploitation. You Americans do not practice the last two, and now fail to practice the first! You rush into a "Peace Process," thus leaving your enemies humiliated but not beaten. This is why you are losing your war in Southeast Asia. Viet Cong are know that your heads are not in it, because you are conducting peace talks. The side that asks for peace is usually the side that is losing. How can Viet Cong respect and fear you, when they know you are wanting peace so badly? This is how you lose a war.

London Terror Plot

I am watching MSNBC yesterday morning, and all of a sudden they are saying "London Terror Plot Foiled." This is very good news for Londoners, and very good news for America. But already I am seeing the peculiar human sickness appearing. You have no patience. Everything must be done yesterday. Always you are wanting things to be completed now now now, like little children. When the Gardeners of Shintada were conquering Fwong, they were taking twenty-seven years before Hakka Fwong was fully under their control, and another six years before all the rest of the islands were theirs. You Americans and you Britishers, you have been fighting these Moslemic terrorists for only five years, and already like little babies you cry, "We are tired. Let us go home!" No! You must have the will. You must have the energy, the determination to crush and destroy your enemy. Only then, when it is apparent that you will last, even until the end of time and your sun goes nova, then will your enemies back down. Then will they surrender. Not before. The London bombers will not be the last. You must have the endurance! By the Designer, fear not your strength, but know it and be of good confidence. Then comes victory.

Translation Program

I am writing program for translation of Olphen to English. I am knowing that sometimes my writing and talking is not what it could be, but you must remember, I am coming to English as a fully grown man, and learning it then. When my program is finished, I will tell you.

On Languages

I am speaking five languages. First, is High Primactic, or Olphen, which is spoken in the Primacy. Then is Lai-Shintada, which is the languange of the Garden of Shintada. Then is Old Fwongolese, which I am learning when I am sailing with Black Jenny Allgood in Fwong. Last is Pukhtin, which is from Pukh (High Primactic) and tin (Lai-Shintada), both of which mean low or common. So Pukhtin is the common language on Anakhjur, the lingua franca as humans say. Anakhjur is a Pukhtin word; in Olphen the word is Nakhdejiur, in Lai-Shintada the word is Anekura. Also I am speaking English, which I am learning when I arrive on earth. From now on, I will write in English. I will use human translations of Olphen and Pukhtin words. Already I have done so. In Olphen, the name of my nation is Phenokensis prek Delaqqin. This means "First and Mightiest of Empires", in order to keep the feel but shorten the name, in English I will call it the Primacy. Praetor, Prelate, Hierophant, Primate, and other titles I will use here are translations of titles in Olpen or Pukhtin.

The Theory of Games

On Anakhjur, this is very famous book. On Earth, this is very famous book. So imagine my surprise! Qadas m'Denoia is the title of a famous book on Anakhjur of military strategy. Qadas means "Theory" and Deno means "Game", so the Theory of Games! But on earth, The Theory of Games is written by John von Neumann, and is a book of mathematics. How strange! How bizarre! But perhaps not bizarre, as my own Battle Calculus shows, mathematics and war are very connected.

Emoq t'Hainn!

Welcome, or as we Anakhjurians are saying, emoq t'Hainn, which is meaning, from emo which is to step or to walk, and hainn which is my home, "step (into) my home."

This is my journal, and I am having the great honor of being Jeneliya desha Nismukanian, doctor and soldier. I hope that future peoples will gain from my knowledge, as my own people have done. Once, I am a great general among the Anakhjurian peoples, fighting for my beloved Primacy, but now Anakhjur is no more. I am here on earth, among the earthers, and must make my way here. O, my blessed Engineer, guide me here.

Almost I am forgetting. The hierophants of my youth, the zajdaneki, would have beaten me black and red, were I to be forgeting to offer up to the Great Designer this journal. O Celestial Compass-wielder, grant me the vision to complete this task.
